Content pipeline — initial case evidence

Status: partial evidence pass, 2026-09-23. Primary cases: upcoming Emergent Dialog interviews and the 2RCon video backlog. This is context for Beads lip-93f.2.1, not completion of its queue sample or end-to-end walkthrough. Parent: content production and marketing pipeline.

What was checked

Read GitHub project #38 and the 2RCon issues through gh; searched accessible Life Itself issues for Emergent Dialog material. No media, Drive files, editing tools, or private YouTube upload settings were inspected. Issue checklists and board states below are recorded tracking evidence, not independently verified asset states. No remote issues or board entries were changed.

2RCon: existing work and unresolved release choices

Rufus identifies this as the large online event held in December 2025 and reports the videos still unpublished. Three existing issues cover different parts of the work:

Existing recordEvidenceWhat it does not establish
#160 — Videos post-production, last updated 2026-05-12Raw Zoom downloads and Drive intake are marked complete. The Rebecca Henderson keynote, Emerging Future panel, and Health panel have upload and trimming checked. Other listed videos have uploads but no trimming checked, or neither checked. Notes describe private playlists/unlisted uploads and a paused handoff to Jarlath.Current edit state, current access settings, completeness of the catalogue, and whether the historical owner/handoff still applies.
#215 — Publishing 2RCon 2025 Videos, last updated 2026-08-03Proposes a focused release led by keynotes and strong panels, light social activity, and one or two clips. Leaves anchor selection, owner, timing, clip selection, and landing-page need open.An approved release package, current owner/capacity, or a current release date. Its May–July scheduling language is historical.
#192 — Media release and marketing, last updated 2026-05-12An existing marketing task, with no description when inspected.Which marketing outputs were agreed, produced, reviewed, or sent.

Source locations supplied by #160: raw-content Drive folder and video catalogue. Those destinations have not been inspected in this pass.

This supports distinguishing at least three kinds of remaining work: choosing the release package, completing/reviewing selected videos, and executing publication and promotion. It does not establish which is the principal current blocker. Some technical preparation may already be reusable; uploading a video privately is not evidence that the public release is complete.

Emergent Dialog: release approaching, exact records still to identify

Rufus reports interviews approaching release, with a choice between podcast publication alone and a dedicated location plus supporting material. This is direct user context, not a verified production status.

The bounded issue search did not locate a clearly matching interview-series issue. It found workshop/residency material, which should not be treated as the interview release. The OtM epic #190 separately describes four Elizabeth Debold recordings needing review and reconstructed edit notes; their relationship to the Emergent Dialog interviews remains unconfirmed. Do not merge those identities by assumption.

The first missing input is the exact release record or list of recordings. Once identified, the useful comparison is whether intended outputs, destination, supporting material, owner, and review criteria are clear enough for production to finish.

What the content board adds

Project #38 was accessible after the GitHub permission update and returned 37 items. None of those items referenced #160, #192, or #215, and no title clearly identified the Emergent Dialog interview series. This is a gap in the returned board inventory, not proof that no related tracking exists elsewhere.

Two comparison points matter for the pipeline:

  • Dougald Hine #191 is marked Done, while Rufus reports wanting more promotion. This raises a question about the scope of “done” and how new promotion opportunities are picked up; it does not establish that the board is wrong.
  • April Explorer course #1335 is marked Amplifying, while Rufus reports unresolved video-release decisions for an April course. Confirm the identity and distinguish the live-course campaign from a later recorded-course release before interpreting this as contradictory status.

The documented board design calls the stages Idea, Shaping, Producing, Post-production, Ready, Amplifying, Done, and Do Not Publish. It describes ad-hoc material entering Post-production directly. Rufus's account suggests some such material still needs an editorial decision about what it should become; whether the actual workflow accommodates that needs checking.

Initial comparison

Decision or handoffEmergent Dialog2RCon
What are we releasing?Interview series, according to Rufus; exact records not yet identified.A collection of event videos; anchor selection remains open in #215.
Where does it live?Podcast only versus an additional dedicated location is unresolved.YouTube preparation is recorded; playlist/publication readiness and landing-page need require confirmation.
What accompanies it?Ancillary material still to specify.Focused promotion and one or two clips are proposed, not confirmed as the agreed package.
What production remains? Not yet evidenced.Historical checklist shows mixed edit/upload states; needs a current check of selected videos.
Who carries it through? Not yet established in this evidence pass.Historical names appear, but current responsibility for the whole release is unclear in the inspected records.

Operational hypothesis to test

Use a short per-release brief and an explicit completion check, drawing on existing records rather than introducing another tracker. The brief covers selected material, intended use, destinations, required initial outputs, later follow-up, owner, and review criteria. The completion check distinguishes preparation, actual publication/announcement, and subsequent promotion.

For 2RCon, #215 already contains much of a candidate brief; the immediate planning need is to confirm its choices and reconcile them with selected entries in #160. A useful small test would follow one already-trimmed keynote and one less-prepared video through the same questions. That is a proposed investigation, not approval to release them, build a landing page, or contact speakers.

Questions for the next working pass

  1. Which exact Emergent Dialog recordings and existing record are in scope?
  2. For each case, what is the smallest worthwhile initial release, and what can follow later?
  3. Which selected assets are actually ready, and what production or review remains?
  4. Who owns the editorial decision, each handoff, and final publication/promotion?
  5. What counts as completion, and how will we notice and act on further promotion opportunities?

These questions feed the existing pipeline work; the broader content strategy remains parked.
