Background
How this planning system came about, what it replaced, and the decisions behind it. You don't need this to use the system; start with the README and workflow. Full decision history and source links are in the project management infrastructure project and its Beads epic lip-tqk.

Open: whether Beads works in collaborators' Claude cloud environments (lip-tqk.1). Until then, collaborators without Beads use GitHub or ask an editor. The content-production workflow is being designed separately (lip-93f.2).
Old sources
- Tao portfolio snapshot: deprecated as an editable portfolio; kept in Tao as historical reference. Tao remains the handbook for culture and principles and points here for planning.
- Programs & Projects DB spreadsheet: a reconciliation source, not the current portfolio. Its financial and accounting uses are unaffected. Rufus is handling its deprecation notice.
Imported records keep their original row references, claims and links. Unknowns and conflicts stay recorded for review rather than being guessed. The reconciliation report maps sources to records; the pilot report records the AI-assisted walkthrough and Rufus's corrections.
