Calls & Catalysts

Purpose

How the Seeds of Renaissance community gathers and grows. Calls are regular hosted gatherings where people meet the movement and each other. They can be online or local. Catalysts are the people who host them. Calls are the on-ramp: many people find the ideas (podcast, papers, manifesto) but have no community or route into action. Catalysts are how calls spread beyond what the core team can host.

Active / planned

  • Global Connection Call — the flagship online call. It runs as a six-session cycle (connect → explore → act), hosted in pairs. See the Global Connection Call — First Iteration project, owned by Petronella Tyson, with the first call likely 15 October 2026. An Asia-Pacific slot is planned; Troy and Priscilla are candidate hosts. Working doc: Global Connection Call — SoR.
  • Local meetups / groups — self-organised local nodes using a lighter format. Current examples:
    • Bali, a monthly meetup (Troy and Priscilla)
    • Australia/Tasmania circle (Liana and Vari)
    • London
  • Catalyst Circle — the hosts' circle. Acorn 1 is the first prototype cohort, meeting every two weeks from July to October 2026. Later cohorts are expected to make a more formal year-long commitment. Docs: Catalyst Circle — 3-Month Prototype, meeting notes, Drive folder.
  • Events — bigger, one-off events (festivals, conferences, gatherings), kept separate from regular calls.
  • Community Chat — the always-on chat space that serves the same audience.
