Life Itself's portfolio, brought together
Life Itself's initiatives and project records now have a shared home in Planning. The migration brings together material from Tao, the older portfolio spreadsheet and current plans, preserving useful history while making current work easier to find and maintain.
The interactive portfolio lets the team explore how work fits together, see owners and status, and follow links to working materials and task trackers.
- One maintained portfolio: initiative records live here; Tao points to Planning instead of maintaining a competing portfolio. Historical sources and unresolved ownership or tracker questions remain visible.
- A practical view of the work: browse initiatives and projects, expand their relationships, and filter active or historical work. Short project numbers and consistent people identifiers make records easier to find and reference.
- Clear task locations: follow the team's GitHub or Asana tracker, or Beads for planning and agent work, without copying the same task queue between tools. Related Beads work can be found across an initiative's projects and child tasks.
- Simple ways to start and update: the workflow explains initiative maintenance and the two project routes—a project record here or an A10 / similar Google Doc. No Tao issue or duplicate registration is required. Rufus maintains the portfolio, initiative owners confirm their information, and corrections can be made directly or sent to Rufus.
The same records support both the visual overview and AI-assisted updates. Project-creation practice continues to evolve; this is a usable shared foundation, not a requirement to move every team's work into one tool.
